City Receives $8,100 Crumb Rubber Grant
The City of Vanceburg has been awarded a Crumb Rubber Grant totaling $8,100.00 from the Kentucky Energy and Environmental Cabinet. This grant supports projects that encourage the use of recycled waste tires, specifically in the form of crumb rubber or other tire-derived products, in accordance with the program's established criteria.
The City, in partnership with the Buffalo Trace Area Development District, applied for the grant in early 2025. After a thorough review process, the City received the official award notification on May 8, 2025.
The funds from this grant will be used to purchase twelve 8-foot park benches, which will be strategically placed throughout the City’s downtown parks and recreational areas. These benches, made with environmentally sustainable crumb rubber material, will not only enhance the visual appeal and comfort of these public spaces but will also provide long-term durability and reduce the need for frequent replacements. This project is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve our public amenities.
The benches have been placed at the Scott Park and Veteran's Park.
